“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations….teaching them to observe all that I commanded you.” Matthew 28:19-20
From the beginning, the church’s teaching ministry has been at the center of Christianity. Jesus commissioned his disciples to teach. The mission of the Christian Education Commission is to provide oversight and guidance to all teaching programs within the Church.
Its goals are:
1. To develop a biblically literate congregation
2. To provide on-going training for the church membership and leadership
3. To develop sound educational objectives for the church membership
The Christian Education Commission also develops, monitors and evaluates curricula for all teaching programs; ensures all groups are in line with the purpose of the Church; acts as a clearinghouse for teaching programs that will be implemented; assists in designing new programs; plans church-wide institutes and retreats; and plans and develops training classes for present and prospective leaders and teachers.
